About Shay

I’m a finance professional working in institutional asset management in the City. Before that, I worked in wealth management, and I’ve been recognised with industry awards for early-career achievement.

I teach because I know how difficult it is to get your foot in the door in finance. Competition for graduate roles and internships is intense, and many strong candidates are rejected at the CV stage before anyone sees their potential. Without contacts in the industry, the process can feel opaque. Over the years I’ve mentored students and young professionals, and I’ve seen how much the right guidance changes their results.

My aim is to give you honest, practical advice from someone who has recently been through the same process and now works in the industry.

My lessons are practical and tailored to where you are in your job search. In the first session, we discuss your goals and review your current CV or applications. From there, we work on what will make the biggest difference: rewriting your CV, drafting cover letters, preparing for competency and technical interviews, or practising for assessment centres.

Lesson length depends on what you’re working on. A CV review may be shorter, while a mock interview with feedback takes longer. Every session includes live feedback and clear actions to complete before the next one.

I work in institutional asset management, hold a finance degree and four industry qualifications, and have mentored students and early-career professionals for several years. I know what recruiters in the industry look for because I’ve been through the process myself.

Lessons suit university students, recent graduates and career changers looking to break into asset management, investment banking or wider financial services.
