About Arufa
I'm an incoming medical student with an honors degree in Biology and over five years of hands-on experience in both clinical and academic settings. I've worked as a medical assistant across OB-GYN and pediatrics, volunteered hundreds of hours in hospital settings, and co-authored a peer-reviewed research publication. I bring the same attention to detail and genuine care into my tutoring sessions that I bring to everything else I do. I work especially well with students who feel behind or overwhelmed; I've been that student, and I know how to help them find their footing.

Hi, I'm Arufa! I'm an incoming medical student who has spent the last five years tutoring students from elementary school all the way through high school, and honestly, it's one of the most rewarding things I do.
My background is in biology and healthcare, so science and math are my strong suits, but I also tutor writing and general academic skills. I've worked with students across a wide range of levels and learning styles, and I know firsthand that struggling in school rarely means a student isn't capable; it usually just means they haven't been taught in a way that clicks for them yet. That's where I come in.
I tailor every session to the individual. We start by figuring out exactly where the gaps are, then work through material in a way that builds real understanding, not just memorization. I'm patient, I ask a lot of questions, and I don't move on until I'm sure things actually make sense. I've helped students go from failing to passing, and helped one student overcome a promotion-in-doubt status entirely.
Whether your child needs weekly support to stay on track, help preparing for an exam, or just someone who will actually take the time to explain things clearly, I'd love to work with them!
