About Mamen
I graduated in Graphic design and Illustration in 2004, developing since then a career in art, design and education that I always try to improve, obtaining a MA in Motion Graphics in 2020.
I have quite a lot of experience teaching graphic design and illustration in both academic environment and private lessons. Since 2009 I am a lecturer of BAU at MA illustration level, and since 2016 in LCCA of graphic design. I also have more than 5 years of experience with private tuition helping students with all kind of backgrounds to achieve their goals: support of academic tasks, achieve better level to enter in a particular course, improve professional skills or just for the pleasure of learning a new path. In my clases I always adapt my content to the necessities of my student, so no matter if you are completely beginner or advanced I will be able to help you.
Paralele to my teaching job I have more than 15 years of experience as creative designer, illustrator and visual artist, working with brands like: Clipper, Primavera Sound, Converse, Amnesty International or ICE.

My teaching methodology really depends on the level of the students and the number of the students of the lessons. However I like my students to understand the basics of design theory, the design principles, to be able to work through practice, sharing and analysing examples and creating tasks the closest way possible that professionals work in the industry.
I help my students to understand all the process of design, from reading and understanding a briefing, developing ideas to generate final art based on a professional knowledge of the softwares. Beginning or advanced I use to create industry related tasks that help me to teach and show different ways of thinking, research and the use of the tools with a creative and original result.

Perfect! Mamen is a great tutor. She is guiding my work in the direction we discussed during the assessment. I needed her help to prepare myself to start working as a graphic designer and it went perfectly; she also suggested some material which I can study myself and many useful links and advice.
Mamen is super friendly and easy to talk to. Also scheduling is super easy with her as she is very responsive.Perfect! Mamen was amazing we went through my struggles of typography and helped me identify its uses and practices by analysing its nature and its application basis with different classifications of type. I will now implement my theory into practice. She's very knowledgable and pays attentions to your weakness and helps strengthen that. Great tutorial! :)
- Daniel had an excellent attitude and a lot of curiosity on how improve on his struggles with typography, that basically were coming from a lack of practice after reading a lot of theory about the anatomy of the fonts, but not knowing about the sutil differences between different family fonts.Mamen's response :

Memen was my tutor at London College of contemporary art she was a fantastic teacher very supportive and very tired she take a very good offered to help her student especially for me me as a dyslexic person she always calls and check on my progress and she always give me one to one class to make sure that I am progressing ok like other student especially because the assignment time I'm she make sure that I have the time I need and support I need although that's not hard job but she makes sure that I'm doing alright anybody will be teach by her will be very lucky
Having recieved tutoring from Mamen for 2 years I feel that I am in a strong position to tell you that she is a wonderful tutor! Mamen makes every lesson fun and interesting and she packs a lot of useful information into her lessons without making them too complicated to digest. Rate for online lessons : £30 - £35 weekends
Rate for 5 hours of lessons : £140 - £160 weekends

Rate for 5 hours of lessons : £230 - £260 Weekends

Details
This is the standard rate for graphic design and illustration lessons at all levels. I will create and adapt the content of every lessons to your necessities. The first class is always free, and lasts 30 minutes.
If you need to cancel, yo need to notify 24 hours in advance. Cancellations after this time will not be eligible for a refund.
