About Peter
I am an enthusiastic Mathematics Tutor holding a Mathematics MSci degree (1st Class honours) from University of Birmingham.
My approach to teaching is to tailor all lessons to my students' specific abilities and learning preferences, so that all students can see strong progress and gain confidence during every session.
My professional experience is quite varied since graduating from university in 2013, I have taught snowboarding and English abroad, so have experience in teaching new/difficult concepts and seeing how students benefit from tailored teaching methods and a structured programme to enhance progress.
More recently I have worked as an Actuary in London for 10 years, a profession that requires a strong ability to explain difficult mathematical concepts to less understanding audiences, a skill that translates very well into Mathematics tutoring.

Peter is a long-time family friend and has overseen my son’s Maths progress from Year 7 (12 years old) all the way through to his A-levels, with regular sessions (1-2 hours per week plus extra during exam periods). He is a patient, knowledgeable tutor whom my son has enjoyed working with immensely, and I would strongly recommend him.
I’m an adult leaner that wanted to retake my Maths GCSE and didn’t really know where to start given my past struggles with this subject. Peter devised a broad study plan to identify and improve my weakest areas, and was calm and patient with me as we worked through the material over an 8 month period, with two sessions per week. His clear explanations were great and he really took the time to make sure I understood material before then moving onto practice exam style questions.
