Perfect! I passed the Academic test and achieved a 7.5 in the Writing section, and I’m really grateful for Lee’s support!

Lee knows exactly how to approach every type of question in both Tasks 1 and 2. His lessons are very efficient and pragmatic. Based on his review of my homework, he clearly identified the areas I needed to improve and provided practical guidance on how to do so.

I highly recommend Lee to both professionals and students, his guidance made a real difference to my preparation.

Perfect! Lee was spot on in helping me with my weak points and giving me tips that target those flaws. I have become aware of the areas that i should work on to better my performance especially in reading and speaking.
I still need to practice more to get to where i want to be. Nonetheless, Lee’s teachings have greatly helped me become more aware of those soft spots that i need to keep working on and he also have given me ample resources to help develop my IELTS skill. Thanks again, Lee.

Perfect! Lee is a very experienced tutor. He was able to tailor make my classes to teach me with the writing part that I seemed not to get. In a very easy to understand way, he was able to make me see how I was loosing points and explore ways of improving my score in all the tested areas. I got a score that seemed impossible for me. I highly recommend Lee. It the best use of money I ever made.

Perfect! Lee is great. He's very knowledgeable about the IELTS test and understands what needs to be done to get the score you need.

In my case, I was preparing for the Writing and Speaking sections of the IELTS, in which I had a 6.5 and 7.5 before, and ended up getting a 7.5 and 8.5, respectively.

I completely recommend Lee if you're preparing the IELTS!

I approached Lee as I needed some help to pass IELTS which was a requirement of me getting residency in Australia. At first, I couldn't get my scores above Band 6 in both reading and writing. After some lessons with Lee, both my confidence and abilities increased significantly. The insider help he was able to offer because of his examining experience was invaluable. I took the test after 3 months of lessons and came out with an overall Band 8.5 but with Band 9 in both reading and writing. I couldn't believe it. I can't think Lee enough for what he has done.

Did you grow up speaking this language? Or were you inspired by a trip abroad, an individual or a certain aspect of the culture?
I speak English fluently as it is my native language. I am also learning Spanish to I can completely empathise with learners regarding the challenges learning and new language can bring.
Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?
I think Richard Pryson would be someone important to mention as he was the first English language publisher in the country. The uniform language which he helped to standardise became accepted throughout England and led to the creation of many of the textbooks we use today.
Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or expression in the language that you particularly like?
There's nothing specific to be honest but I do enjoy teaching students about idiomatic language as the expressions on their faces can sometimes be interesting when you explain the meaning of what certain idioms actually mean.
Why does speaking this language matter to you?
English is my native language so, of course, it is important to me. I also appreciate how lucky I am that I can converse fluently in English as I know it is a skill many people wish to master.
What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?
I find that many students have difficulty understanding and applying rules for using articles ("a", "an" or "the") in English as they don't exist in their native language. My advice is to observe how these words are used in everyday life by reading newspapers and listening to the news on television and then try to work out when and why articles are being used.
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.
One time I was teaching some spelling skills to a younger student and she asked me how to spell "toad" as we had just read a story which involved a toad. So, I spelt it out for her "T-O-A-D" and then asked if she could use that word in a sentence for me. She happily wrote the sentence and read it out as follows: "Last week, I toad my mum that I want a new bike for Christmas". I couldn't help but chuckle to myself afterwards.
How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?
I travel a lot to Spain or Spanish speaking countries so I can completely understand how students feel when learning a new language. It's also good from a personal perspective as it makes you think more about how different languages are formed and used.
