About Alex
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught IELTS, Advanced English and Business English for several years. I only teach these subjects so I specialise in these fields. All my students have gone on to pass their Academic IELTS exams with good grades.
I only teach privately online on a one to one basis.
I have written 3 books covering Academic IELTS and English grammar.
Before teaching, I worked for over 30 years in private industry at a senior role. I have worked in most Western European countries, USA and South America. I have personal experience in using my second and third languages living and working in these countries so I fully understand what my students need in a second / third language.

I am a native English speaker from London. I specialise in one to one Academic IELTS, Advanced-Level English and Business English.
My lessons are geared towards mature professional students. I generally teach at advanced-level, C1 and C2 and above.
I use various course books including Cambridge IELTS, Cambridge Business English, New English File and others.
I structure my lessons towards the individual student's needs.
Before moving into teaching, I was a professional working in a multinational company in the UK, Western Europe, USA and South America. I understand the challenges of living and working using my 2nd and 3rd languages.
I teach online via Skype, Zoom or Google Meet.
I also provide help on writing Academic IELTS essays, CVs and other professional documents. This can be by email or in a one to one lesson
I have a Certificate in English Language Teaching for Adults (CELTA) certified by Cambridge University.
I have an Masters degree in Business Administration from Nottingham University Business School. I specialised in marketing and passed with Distinction.
I have a Diploma (Modern Languages BA) in Spanish and French from the Open University.
I charge £30 per hour for face to face online lessons.
I also provide essay, CV, letter, document and written work assessments and corrections by email return. The price is £15 per essay/report of up to 350 words. For essays above 350 words the price is on a case by case basis.
Availability is every day, early till late UK time.
