About Archie

I am an academic going into research. Of course, I believe in the power of education when learning is done right. An “end” goal of mine is to lecture at university level, and I have been told I am a natural teacher. Personally, I never found being in education a smooth process (at any stage) due to personal barriers, but it never deterred me from persevering and succeeding. I hope to tutor with an understanding that it might not be a smooth process for others always, too. Generally speaking, I love to read, write and engage, and tutoring is a great way of doing so.

About the lesson

We all work differently and I aim to take this into consideration when tutoring. Taking a person-centred approach, I will tailor and tweak lessons based on/around the person I am working with. My personal goal is to help students feel more confident in their written or reading skills, and in turn this will trigger improvement. I am patient, understanding and willing when it comes to students who might be overwhelmed or frustrated with learning, for whatever reason(s) that may be.
