My Approach to Tutoring
I believe in fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel confident and motivated to tackle challenging topics. My teaching methodology focuses on understanding the "why" behind mathematical concepts, not just memorising formulas. I use a combination of step-by-step explanations, real-life examples, and interactive problem-solving to ensure that students build a strong foundation and truly grasp the material.
Techniques & Methodology:
I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual needs, identifying their strengths and areas for improvement.
I emphasise active learning by encouraging students to solve problems themselves, providing guidance when necessary.
I incorporate regular reviews and quizzes to track progress and reinforce key concepts.
Lesson Length:
Typically, lessons last between 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student’s age, focus, and goals. For younger students, shorter, more frequent sessions are often more effective.
Qualifications/Experience:
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Actuarial Studies from the University of Melbourne, with extensive knowledge of mathematics and statistics.
Who Are My Lessons For:
I offer tutoring for students of all levels, from primary school to university, including VCE mathematics and university-level courses in actuarial studies and statistics.
