About Scott

I get it. Middle school and high school can be a stressful time. You have classes, but on top of that, you have sports practices and games. Maybe you are in the band or getting ready for a school play. There are a lot of things happening and history class isn't something you want to worry about. That's why I'm here to help. I love history. I think it's just a big story to tell with lots of different people, places, and things that affect your life in ways you don't realize. My job is to make that story fun and interesting. Fun and interesting makes it easier to learn. Whether you are just starting in middle school or are in 11th grade and need a little guidance in your study habits, I'm here to help.

My experience with a wide range of grade levels has allowed me to better recognize learning curves and how to adjust to them in a patient manner. I'll help with

Making sense of the content. We’ll connect causes, effects, and themes so you’re not just memorizing dates.

Test prep for unit tests and finals.

Study skills. Note-taking, reading primary sources and recognizing what to focus on so you're not trying to memorize things that aren't focal points, and planning ahead so you aren’t cramming the night before.
