About Varanya
Hi, I’m Varanya, a Law student at the University of Manchester.
After achieving all A-A* grades at GCSE, I developed a strong passion for History during my A-Levels. Over two years, I refined effective revision strategies, essay structures, and exam techniques that helped me excel-and I now enjoy helping other students do the same.
Through mentoring and tutoring, I’ve supported students in improving their essay writing, exam preparation, and critical analysis skills. Several of the students I’ve worked with have seen their grades improve by up to two grades after applying the techniques we worked on together.
During sixth form, I also served as a History Prefect, leading weekly discussions with KS3 students to guide them on essay writing and exam preparation. More recently, I co-led an A-Level History masterclass over Zoom for 20+ students, focusing on essay structure, revision methods, and the skills needed to achieve A/A* grades.
In my free time, I love dance and music, and I’m always reading wherever I can. I look forward to helping you build confidence in History and achieve the best grade possible!

My first lesson is free to get to know the student and to identify the student's specific needs and the teaching style that works best for them!
In these sessions I will cover:
- In-depth analysis and collaborative writing of model essays
- Key features of an A* answer
- Marking, reviewing, and providing
feedback on exam papers and essays
- Extensive content reviews
- In-depth guidance on creating personalised study resources
Overall I take a more positive approach to learning, focusing on areas where the student has done well and areas they could improve.

She’s extremely organised when it comes to teaching and shows a lot of patience when going through things you don’t understand, she truly cares about you understanding the content and teaches it very well - she’s a very trustworthy tutor!!
I did history a level alongside Varanya and with her help, secured a high A after being predicted a C. I would not have been able to do so without the endless hours and selfless dedication she put in. History is a tough subject and really made me feel dumb at times, but Varanya’s empathy and patience helped me gain confidence and end up really enjoyed the subject! She’s a remarkable teacher and I can guarantee her kind teaching style will ensure fun, helpful lessons.

I could not recommend anyone more than Varanya as a history tutor. Not only is she one of the most intelligent people I know, but she is also incredibly patient, caring, hardworking and dedicated. Varanya puts in 100% effort in everything she does, and as a tutor she will do absolutely everything to help a pupil and support them in their studies. I have seen this firsthand whilst teaching an A-Level History Masterclass with her.
