About Ivan
My name is Ivan Hu, and I am a certified snowboard instructor with a degree in Applied Mathematics. I believe that I can encourage and motivate students of this age to enjoy mathematics by training them to use techniques that will make their courses much easier to understand.
Upon graduating from the University of California in San Diego in 2022, I moved to Vail, Colorado to follow my dream of snowboarding full time. Through my career here as a snowboard instructor, I have had the pleasure of instructing students of all kinds on the mountain, while keeping in touch with my mathematics by tutoring the local high-school students.

Hello Future Students. Math has been my favorite subject my entire life. Since I was young I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to use equations, formulas, and techniques to solve complex functions.
I believe that practice and repetition to develop good habits is very important when approaching each problem.
Therefore, completing one's homework and going over the correct solutions would be the first step of the lesson plan.
After doing this, we will go over our weak points from the homework mistakes, and go over specific tricks and formulas that we can use to make these problems easier.
Finally, prior to exams and quizzes, we will go over all the material learned for that specific section, and I will create practice exams for the student to gauge their ability and confidence level.
What sets me apart as a tutor is that I genuinely enjoy and have a passion for mathematics. Throughout my journey attaining a degree from in Applied Mathematics, I have picked up many tips, tricks, and ideologies that many other tutors may not think about or use. I believe that I will be able to help my students learn to truly enjoy the subject, and think about math in a way that they have not yet before.
These lessons are for elementary school to high school students enrolled in math courses up to multi-variable calculus. I can also tutor college courses, but would have to study up on the material beforehand.
