About Matthew
I have a Bachelor of Education and worked in the public system for 17 years. I worked as a Music teacher primarily but also have taught Maths, remedial English, Media/film studies, computing. To back up my computing I have a diploma and computer support.

My tutoring style is to help students to be self sufficient. Train the student work out the problems by reading the questions thoroughly, get to know the terminology, and to practise the procedures needed to solve the problem.
Structure of the lesson (maths) would be to go through the homework set by the classroom teacher. Make sure the questions are understood, and check the answers. Corrections are then made and extra examples completed to check if the lesson has been understood and can be repeated without help.
Homework from me is set to consolidate what was just learned and examples from the next chapter are looked at.
