About Malak
I graduated back in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. Of course, you are asking why math? Well I love math and I enjoy solving complex problems, I feel it's like a workout for the brain. It is challenging and rewarding and helps develop logical thinking. Also, last year I decided to go back to school to get a degree in Computer Science because I wanted to learn new skills and expand my career opportunities.

As a math tutor, one of the basic tenets I go by is tailoring my teaching style to fit the needs of the students I’m tutoring. So since students have different learning styles, understanding how my student learns helps me tutor them effectively. I generally use the Constructivist approach in which students are encouraged to take initiative and be autonomous learners. By ensuring that students are constructing their own understanding of the world, I believe that this is the best way to construct their own knowledge. During the learning process, I encourage brainstorming, using real-life examples, critical thinking, and the use of technology. I continuously try to provide constructive feedback and maintain a positive attitude as math can be challenging for many. And because practice makes perfect and math is all about practice, I give students the opportunity to practice enough to master the objective.
