Each session will be adapted based on the learning styles and level of the student.
Some key techniques include:
Explaining mathematical concepts in simple terms and using real-life examples to help students understand the application and context of the things they are learning.
Using visual aids, such as diagrams, graphs, and videos, to make abstract concepts more tangible and easier to comprehend.
Providing students with practice problems and quizzes to help them reinforce their understanding of the material.
Encouraging students to ask questions and seek clarification whenever necessary.
A typical lesson plan for students:
Review previous material: We will review previous concepts covered to ensure that the student has a solid understanding of the basics.
Intro to new concepts: I will introduce the new concept, providing an explanation as well as applications of it.
Practice problems: I will provide the student with practice problems to help them practice. I will guide the student through the problems, answering any questions they may have along the way.
Quiz: After a lesson, I may provide a quiz to assess the student's level of understanding of the concept.
Summary/Questions: At the end of a session, I will leave time to answer questions as well as summarize the concept for the student.
As a student myself, I relate to a lot of the difficulties that students can have when understanding a very analytical subject such as math. Every one has their own strengths and weaknesses, and sometimes it just takes a little extra explaining for someone to grasp a concept.
I also recognize that every one learns a little bit differently. Through tutoring, I hope that I can provide methods that are more tailored to the students' needs and individual learning styles.
