About Joey
I am an A-level student at Colchester Royal Grammar School, studying A-level German, Maths, Geography and Art. At GCSE, I studied German, French and Spanish, and achieved a high grade 9 in all of them. I also achieved a Grade 9 in English Language, a Grade 8 in Maths, and Grades 9-7 in my 6 other subjects.
I have plenty of experience tutoring younger students as I have done it throughout Year 11.
I also have School Subject Awards in both French and German, showing my commitment to the subjects. Not only that, but I also received the Core Values award in 2025, demonstrating my kindness, patience, and compassion.
I also am very confident in thinking and speaking on the spot, having won the Regional Finals of the German Translation Bee, where I went on to place in the top 4 nationally in May 2024.

I don't just read from textbooks, I make lessons active, encouraging and highly structured so students actually look forward to them. Every session is unique based on exactly what a student is struggling with:
-Strategies to improve your grades: tackling tricky GCSE or KS3 grammar rules, tenses and vocab.
-Speaking Confidently: I am here to provide a completely judgement-free space to practise pronunciation and speaking fluidly about a topic, in order to conquer speaking exam nerves.
-Smart Exam Techniques: Having just achieved Grade 9s myself, I teach exactly what you need to secure a high grade of your own (translation techniques, time management skills and revision methods needed to ace your GCSE papers).
-Interactive and flexible: since lessons are online, I can tailor times and exercises perfect for you!
