About Melvin
For me to connect with my students, it is important that I am as open with them as I can be, while still retaining the teacher persona. I believe that being honest with them promotes a trusting relationship where they feel comfortable talking to me about the issues they are having in regards to the classroom.

As a new teacher, who isn’t much older than some of her students, being able to relate to them on a personal level becomes an important part of my pedagogy.
