About Tatum

I am a professional, reliable, and confident tutor who takes education seriously while maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment. I graduated high school a year early and am currently a 17-year-old freshman in college, which reflects my strong work ethic, discipline, and academic ability. I ran cross-country and track throughout middle school and high school, experiences that taught me consistency, accountability, and goal-setting. I love to work out, enjoy being around children, and thrive on meeting new people. I bring humor into my sessions by laughing, and helping students feel relaxed and comfortable, while still staying focused and respectful. My goal is to build confidence, motivation, and trust so students feel supported and excited to learn.

As a tutor, my goal is to help students truly understand the material. I like to explain ideas clearly by writing them out, drawing, and breaking things down step by step. I’m flexible with pacing — we can go slow if you need extra time or move faster if you’re feeling confident. Your comfort and learning style always come first.
I’ve graduated from high school and am currently a freshman in college, so I understand what it’s like to be learning new material and I understand struggling to meet school expectations. I approach tutoring with patience and encouragement.
A typical lesson with me starts with you telling me what you need help with. I’ll go over the topic with you, explain it in a way that makes sense to you, and then give you time to try it on your own. If something doesn’t click, we’ll go back over it together and keep working until it does. Breaks are always okay if you need them — learning works best when you feel comfortable and supported, so whatever works for you I am open to trying.
