Hello, I have 3 years of formal instruction with 8 years of total experience practicing guitar. I started out on acoustic guitar, and I currently switch back and forth between acoustic and electric.

About Riley
I started playing acoustic guitar when I was 13 years old, and I took structured lessons for the first four years of my playing. After diving into lessons, I continued to practice every day up to the present (at 20 years old). I also took a guitar playing class in 2019 at University of San Diego. I started to focus on electric guitar about two years ago, but I like to switch back and forth. I love the creative aspect of guitar playing, and I spend a lot of time practicing improvisation. I am also currently working on recording and writing my own music.

My lessons are geared towards beginners, although I can teach anyone fundamental music theory. I strongly tailor the lessons to your personal goals, whether it be playing campfire songs, gigging with a band, or diving into other creative pursuits. Even if you have played for a long time, but you find yourself losing motivation or hitting walls with music theory, I can give you the tools to overcome those barriers. I can help you become a versatile player by teaching you accessible, universal scales and chords all over the neck of the guitar.
