Hello!
I am a friendly tutor, with an enhanced DBS check and can offer support to students studying biology or chemistry (GCSE to A level) and pharmacy at the undergraduate/pre-registration level (clinical pharmacy, therapeutics, pharmaceutical calculations).
I would like to be upfront and say that I currently do not have any formal experience in tutoring and this is reflected in my rates. My main motivation for tutoring is to gain experience in teaching and mentoring, and to earn a little bit of extra pocket money. I have informally mentored my younger brother (who is in year 8 now) and friends throughout my years, all of whom have gone on to celebrate great success and can provide testimony for this.
I aim to tailor my support to the student's individual needs. With new clients, I seek to have at least a few days notice so that I can become familiar with the individual exam board that the student is working towards. I then aim to build relevance, understanding and the subsequent ability to link together multiple concepts - the latter of which I believe helps significantly with memory. Most importantly, I hope to inspire confidence in my students and a genuine love of learning.
With pharmacy students, I am happy to provide my own notes used to revise for the pre-registration exam, loan out textbooks that I use and provide practical advice.
