About Chris
I live in Albuquerque, NM. I am a Special Education teacher focusing on ELA and Social Studies. I have tutored in several different areas over the last 20-something years, and I have won two different awards for teaching. Education runs in my family, as I am a fourth-generation teacher (My great-grandmother taught in a one-room schoolhouse in the 1910s). I was fortunate that my parents (both teachers) instilled a love of learning and acquiring knowledge at a young age. I have taught in Texas, California, and now New Mexico.

When it comes to tutoring, I am very informal. I ascertain what my students need and tailor my lessons around that. For instance, I was tasked with tutoring a young student on math facts fluency, so we played Yahtzee. I try as often as I can to gamify my lessons to make them something to look forward to. I believe that teaching should be fun and exciting! I love tutoring because I am able to tailor my lessons to individuals.
