About Brian
I am an educational professional with over 11 years of experience in teaching (both in classroom and virtually), tutoring, and curriculum development. I have both the understanding and training to identify the needs in students and meet those needs in a way that ensures mastery of the given subject, not just completion of assignments. I have worked with students in preschool all the way through middle school and am well versed in all subject matter that pertains to those grades.

My teaching methods incorporate the learning styles of each student. I am a firm believer that students don't need to be forced to use just one math strategy, but that in understanding the processes themselves, they develop number sense and can use multiple approaches to one problem. A typical lesson with me will begin with a number talk where we practice number sense. This will be followed with a review of what we have been learning or an introduction to a new topic. From there we will practice using a gradual release technique so that students can achieve independent mastery. My lessons are for groups and individuals, and can include beginners, those that are still developing proficiency, and those that are looking to have their understanding expanded.
