About Rebeca
In these 12 years of experience I have worked in a great variety of institutions both in public and private schools and also in institutions which are exclusively dedicated to the teaching of English. With groups of all sizes, levels and ages.
I am currently working in a tertiary school where I teach Grammar I and Professional Teaching Practice III, and in a rural public secondary school where I work with teenagers. For a couple of years now, I have had private students with whom I've always worked in person, but last year I was forced to incorporate virtuality as a way of working and it has been fascinating :) I am very happy with the progress of my students and I have no doubt that I can help you achieve your goals.

I am as flexible or structured as the student demands it. It is very easy for me to adapt to different types of personality and learning styles. I am aware that we are all different and we learn in different ways :) Usually, after a couple of classes, the teacher-student relationship and interactions start to be shaped. We begin to get to know each other, understand and create a unique routine that works and satisfies both of us and that's why we keep working together.
As regards teaching methodologies, even though I consider that using a mixture of approaches and methodologies at different times in the class and according to the skills of the students is the best, I would say that the communicative approach prevails in my lessons. My main objective is that students can communicate in English, that you learn how to express something new every class and that your progress is continuous. Another feature to highlight is that I like to integrate all the four skills since a language is not just spoken or written. For there to be effective communication in the different areas of our lives where we use a language on a daily basis, we need to know how to produce (in written and oral form) as well as know how to understand (when we read and listen). That is why it's utterly important for me to integrate the 4 macro skills and learn them in a natural way integrating them all. At the beginning and after having made a diagnosis based on your previous knowledge of English, I choose the bibliography that best suits your skills, interests, goals and linguistic level. We will use a coursebook for the classes and a workbook for you to do extra tasks that we will check the following class. I sometimes prepare an extra activity that is usually oral to consolidate what you have learned and integrate it with what has already been seen in previous classes. It is also very common to modify some activities from the book a little to get the best out of it and make it more fun;)
Finally, I think it is essential that we have a friendly relationship based on trust and respect. To be honest, I like to make friends with my students in a way, to laugh, to make jokes, to get to know them and above all, to enjoy the class. My aim is that learning English is not a burden or an obligation but a productive way of spending your time and receiving a little help from me to grow both personally and professionally and in an enjoyable way. You are investing in your education and that is a great privilege that should give you great satisfaction :)
English has allowed me to do wonderful things and I can't imagine my life or my personality without it. Details
Up to now, I've worked like this:
1. We make a class schedule that works for both of us. You decide the amount of time and weekly lessons you wish to have, of course. You can choose to have 1, 2, 3, 4 or even 5 classes a week. Generally, as we check your homework during the class, it takes an hour and 15 minutes.
2. If you can't have the class and wish to cancel it, you can do it with 24 hours' notice. If you don't, you miss it and lose the chance to reschedule it.
3. Payments are carried out the first week of the month.
