About Calla
With 14 years of piano tutoring experience and over 150–200 students taught, I am passionate about helping learners express themselves through music. I teach high school and college students, as well as elderly adults who enjoy learning at a relaxed and comfortable pace. One of my greatest achievements has been helping students prepare for their first recitals and watching them perform proudly.
I focus on building a strong foundation through simple, clear explanations and step-by-step practice. My teaching style is friendly and supportive, allowing students to feel confident even when trying something new. I believe that music should be accessible to everyone, and I work hard to create lessons that are both enjoyable and meaningful. Seeing my students grow in their skills and self-belief inspires me to continue improving as a tutor.

My piano teaching method focuses on simple explanations, real-life learning, and strong student support. I believe that students understand music better when they can relate it to everyday situations. For example, I compare rhythm to walking patterns, dynamics to speaking tones, and technique to body movements we use daily. These examples make difficult ideas easier to understand. I also use case studies from real performances and music stories. We talk about how professional musicians tackle challenges, prepare for shows, and solve problems during practice.
This helps students build a problem-solving mindset that they can use in music and in life. Keeping students motivated is a huge part of my teaching. I set short-term goals, celebrate progress, and give meaningful encouragement. I want every student to feel inspired and confident, no matter their age or skill level. Integrity shapes the way I teach. I guide students honestly, give clear feedback, and make sure they know what they’re doing well and what they can improve. I do this kindly, so the learning environment always feels safe. Flexibility is another important part of my teaching style. Every student learns differently, so I adjust lessons based on their pace, strengths, and interests. If a method is not working, I switch to another one until the student feels comfortable. In addition to piano, I teach subjects like music theory, ear training, reading notes, finger techniques, and performance confidence. My aim is to help students become well-rounded musicians who not only play pieces but truly understand them.
