About Edward-Said
Hi, my name is Ted Tinawi. I am a 16-year-old guitarist with over 4 years of experience playing in various different rock, jazz, and pop ensembles. I am a student at the Rivers School in MA and have studied and taken lessons in the conservatory. With the Rivers School I have participated in state competitions and have played with the top Rivers ensembles in prestigious venues like the Hatch Shell and Regatta Bar. On top of that, I have played gigs for my own personal projects that I write for. I worked as a counselor at the Rivers Summer Jazz and Contemporary Music camp which was my first experience in giving music education. I taught beginning students how to improvise, jazz theory concepts, as well as how to practice to see quick results. In my lessons I’ll seek to give every student a personalized plan to achieve their own goals. I’ll go over technique and songs to practice as well as explaining theory in a way to make it useful to their playing. I want students to be able to play things they like while also practicing challenging things to push their skill to new heights. For those interested, I can teach improvisation and songwriting across jazz, rock, and pop music!
