About Kylie
I’m a guitar teacher with over 8 years of experience teaching both in-person and online, helping students grow creatively and confidently. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance with a focus on Contemporary Styles. My teaching philosophy centers on the belief that every guitarist has the potential to create something original and meaningful. I guide students through compositional techniques, arranging for solo and ensemble guitar, and the exciting process of writing their own music. Whether you're interested in harmonic development, melodic invention, or exploring counterpoint, I tailor lessons to your specific goals. I also help students understand how to shape musical ideas and turn them into full compositions. For those interested in recording, I provide tools and guidance for creating basic demos at home. My lessons are both structured and flexible, designed to meet each student where they are in their journey. I’ve worked with students from Beginner to Advanced levels, including professional guitarists looking to expand into composing. Each session is a blend of creativity, technique, and musical insight. My guitar teaching approach is built around preparing students for real-world musical experiences. I focus on ensemble playing, understanding band dynamics, and developing strong stage presence. We also cover live performance etiquette, so students know how to communicate, listen, and blend with others on stage. My goal is to help you become not just a skilled guitarist, but a confident performer.
Lessons include group-style play-along sessions, song arrangements, and performance-based challenges. I work especially well with The Fingerstyle Enthusiast and The Late Bloomer—students who want to find their place in a group and enjoy the spotlight. I offer clear guidance on how to lock in with rhythm sections, follow musical cues, and adapt to live settings.
Together, we’ll develop your confidence, stage awareness, and musical communication. I use real-life scenarios and practical exercises to make learning fun and realistic. Whether it’s a jam night, church service, or band gig, we’ll get you ready for the stage. You’ll not only play well—you’ll perform with purpose and presence. I’m here to support you in bringing your music to life with others.
