About Ulysses
With over 30 years of playing experience and constantly striving to improve my own skills, I have gained a wealth of knowledge to pass on to the next geration, or even current generation, of guitar players. Alot of my training came from attending a top 5 university for music, studying classical guitar and music theory. Although I fell short of my bachelors due to an injury, I bring with me that knowledge and all of my experience playing in bands all over the southwestern US and ensembles in my college years. I'm very passionate about interest in guitar playing not being lost in the mix of digital music. We must keep people interested in this and other instruments to keep talented minds creating and not diluting the true meaning of music with computers and software.

I'm a laid back tutor with an extensive background teaching kids and helping intermediate players improve their chops. I always start with a focus on physical aspects of playing guitar: posture, guitar position, finger position, pick grip or finger picking. We then check out the students current skillset and see where we can make possible improvements in technique and execution. Then we can either work on learning a students favorite song, or work on understanding music theory and how it is applied to the guitar, or all of the above!
