About Kara
I am a performing guitarist and teacher with over 7 years of experience guiding students. I completed a Bachelor of Music in Composition (Guitar Emphasis), which shaped my analytical and creative approach. I regularly compose and arrange music in classical and fingerstyle traditions. Teaching and performing continuously inform one another.
I teach students from complete beginners to advanced players. Fundamentals, posture, and tone are carefully built in early lessons. Advanced students work on interpretation, articulation, and expressive phrasing. I encourage thoughtful listening and musical curiosity.
My lessons balance discipline with creativity. Students learn structured exercises along with musical pieces they enjoy. I want every student to understand music deeply and play with confidence. My goal is long-term musical growth.

I believe learning guitar should feel natural and enjoyable. First we build coordination, picking accuracy, and rhythm stability. Students quickly gain control over the instrument.
Lead playing comes next. I show how scales connect and how to create melodies instead of random notes. We study phrasing, slides, bends, and vibrato. Improvisation exercises are done with backing tracks.
I help students shape their own musical identity. Lessons also cover chords and ear training. Creativity and discipline grow together. You will play lead guitar with clarity and confidence.
