I had guitar lessons regularly with Barney for 2 or 3 years before I went to university, at which point he started teaching my brother bass guitar. I enjoyed these so much I took up lessons again after university! All in all he taught my family for a good 6 or so years. Barney's teaching made me a better musician, he taught me different techniques through learning songs that I liked in various styles and he regularly arranged opportunities to gain experience performing. All of this led to some of the best nights I've had performing in various bands at university, and also gave me the confidence to teach a little bit of guitar myself. I would highly recommend Barney as a guitar teacher. He has a wealth of musical knowledge that he gets across in an understandable and concise way, and he is flexible enough that I could have an idea for something I wanted to learn on the way to a
lesson and he'd be able to teach it that day. It's of him that the instrument has become such a big part of my life, and I'm always greatful for his excellent tuition.

I've known Barney for years, so I obviously thought of him immediately when my daughter wanted music lessons. She tried out a number of different instruments but eventually went for the piano. Barney was brilliant with, Grace, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Barney's ace, started playing guitar with Barn and have gone on to loving the instrument and play gigs most weekends. He's great teacher and musician. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to play music.

I have three sons who were all taught to play the guitar by Barnaby. My youngest started lessons at the age of 9 and the older two around the ages of 12/13. Barnaby is an excellent tutor as well as an incredible musician and I am pleased to say all three sons have become accomplished guitarists. He made learning enjoyable while still ensuring my sons achieved their goals. He enabled my lads to learn by choosing the music they enjoyed, which was extremely important as it meant they were keen to do the necessary practising in-between lessons. I am very grateful to Barnaby and I would 100% recommend him to anyone seeking music tuition for either themselves or their children.

I can’t remember how old I was when I began taking guitar lessons with Barney, but remember being nervous and having my Mum stay with me throughout the first lesson. However, after 10 minutes in his company I felt completely relaxed. After that initial experience I continued to have guitar lessons with Barney on and off for the next ten years or so and can not recommend him highly enough. He’s very personable and always tailored lessons to my taste to ensure that learning was always interesting, incorporating both theory and practical into the mix. Having got to know him over the years, if I had kids wanting to learn an instrument, I would not hesitate for a second to leave them in Barney’s control! 10/10
