About Chrysa
As a Fellow Visitor of Ralston College (USA) for the past two years, I teach Modern Greek as a foreign language to the students of the College (Ralston MA in the Humanities), while accompanying them to various significant historic/cultural sites throughout Greece. I am officially certified to teach Greek as a second/foreign language by both the Centre for the Greek Language and the University of the Aegean. As a Greek tutor, I administrate Greek language courses for all levels (A1-C2), as well as Greek literature classes, to groups of up to 25 students or privately. I also teach Ancient Greek to beginners. I am a native Greek with a Bachelor's Degree in Classics and a Master's Degree in Latin Language and Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Cyprus (Classics Department). I am also a professional musician, holder of a Classical Piano Diploma, with work experience as a piano teacher and accompanist. I enjoy teaching -languages, literature, culture, music, or a combination of the above!

With me, you will learn to express yourself from the beginning only in Greek (μόνο Ελληνικά)! Communication and dialogue are a top priority! Rather than focusing mainly on Grammar rules and vocabulary lists, my method offers you a fully immersive experience of the Greek language and culture! With the help of graded readers or authentic literary texts, songs, poems, articles, and the like, you will learn Greek much easier than expected! No matter what your age or your goal is, I am here for you! I am a fully qualified tutor, ready to help you get an official certificate or introduce you to the marvelous world of the Greek language and culture, using the most up-to-date class material and the most efficient teaching methods. Parallel to your main handbook (A1-C2), we will read and talk a lot (in Greek) about ORIGINAL Greek texts. The chosen text can be a complete novel or a corpus of various texts (stories, poems, articles, even video abstracts, etc.). According to your level, I provide you with helping material (side titles, pictures, vocabulary...). Don't worry if you are still a beginner! The lesson is tailored to each level! I will guide you step by step! The more advanced you are, the more the emphasis is on discussion on the content, rather than comprehension of the text. PM to arrange a first trial with me! Γεια σου!
