About Hannah
My name is Hannah and I am a friendly, positive person with a passion for learning. I am currently 18 years old and I have just finished year 13 at Rangitoto College. My time at Rangitoto College was a bit short as I only arrived from the Philippines last year and started studying at Rangitoto College as a year 12 student in the 2nd week of term 3. Even though I’ve only spend about 1 and a half years in Rangitoto College, I have attained several awards and have gained Excellence credits in all of my NCEA results. I was given the Academic Excellence award and also obtained Excellence endorsements in Statistics, Chemistry and my other subjects. My experience in Rangitoto College has shown that I am able to adapt/adjust well to new environments as I was still able go do very well on my assessments even with a very different education system. In addition, I was also able to participate in extracurricular activities and make a lot of new friends. Before coming to New Zealand, I was also a consistent honour student in my school in the Philippines. I have a good background in primary education so I will also be able go teach primary topics easily. If I am given the chance to tutor someone, I believe that I will be able to do well and teach them to understand the topic they want/need to learn about quickly. I will be able to make my tutoring sessions enjoyable and worthwhile as they learn and have fun.

I enjoy learning about things I find interesting which means I know about the topics I learn more deeply. I love to help people understand the topics we are learning about so I always explain the idea/lesson to my classmates around me that are confused. The lessons I will give will be able to make anyone understand it as I explain it clearly to them and never give up until they understand it. I can incorporate other tools in our lessons such as quizzes in kahoot, flashcards, etc. to make lessons more enjoyable which can make my student understand the topic more.
