About Joana
It's very important to me that the student feels comfortable and relaxed in my classes, and that they don't feel like they're at school. I am 21 years old, so I still remember the stress and discomfort I felt during classes, which often led to my having worse grades. I want to create an environment where this stress disappears and the student is comfortable to be open with me about their doubts and difficulties, while at the same time respecting me as a teacher. As I said before, the student is at the center of my classes and I'm just the guide that helps him get where he wants and needs.

My classes aim to be as creative as possible to captivate the student and motivate him to learn the subject. I use a lot of examples and metaphors, as well as the student's own interests as part of the classes. The first class is just a presentation and introductory class in which I try to understand the student's difficulties and personal interests. The following classes will involve practical exercises and demonstrations of how the subject can be applied in real life, ending the class by asking the student what they want to study in the next class. These explanations are intended for students of the 2nd and 3rd cycles. Due to covid, classes will be online (at the beginning at least), using Zoom or Teams.
