About Pablo
I am a passionate Latino educator from Santa Catarina State, Brazil, where I found out that having an artistic outlet was the perfect way to express my thoughts, visions, and imaginations.
My teaching philosophy centers on creating a student-centered learning environment that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong passion for learning. As an educator, I strive to inspire and guide students, recognizing their unique strengths, interests, and learning styles.
Central to my approach is the belief that education should not only impart knowledge but also cultivate essential skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, and adaptability. I aim to create an inclusive classroom where diverse perspectives are valued, and where students feel safe to express themselves and engage in meaningful discussions because I believe in the recognition that each student is unique, possessing distinct learning styles, strengths, and challenges.
In a student course evaluation (based on anonymous feedback) that was prepared for me in 2023 fall semester, some adjectives that my students used to describe me were: “
differences, positive, respectful, . I was heartened to see these because, in my view, they encapsulate and reflect my educational leadership philosophy.
I strive to be approachable, supportive, and fair, creating a classroom environment where trust and mutual respect are paramount. How is it possible? Beyond textbooks and lectures, students need opportunities to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts, especially when teaching critical thinking about developing, pre-producing, producing, and post-producing stories that will touch other human beings’ lives.
I am committed to creating a classroom that celebrates diversity and cultivates a sense of belonging. By recognizing and respecting individual differences, I aim to create an inclusive space where students feel safe to express themselves and embrace their identities.
Ultimately, my goal is to prepare students not only for academic success but also to become empathetic, informed, and active members of society.

Pablo Velho is a committed educator and filmmaker who provides educational support to undergraduate and graduate students in online and in-person classes. Pablo spent eight years working as a Casting Director for TV commercials in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro/ Brazil, for clients such as Pfizer, Yakult, Coca-Cola, Renault car, etc. Now based in Miami, Pablo has worked in the art and wardrobe departments for TV commercials such as The General Insurance with Shaquille O'Neil, TV shows such as The Red Table with Gloria Estefan, creative content such as Maluma and Carol G. YouTube Specials, and awarded winning short movies such as Lucas, and short documentary Parodi - the Petite Museum. Pablo is also known for lectures with helpful supporting materials and detail-oriented classroom management to reach students of diverse backgrounds.
