I'm John, a dedicated math tutor passionate about helping students succeed. I hold a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Economics from New York University and have over a year of tutoring experience, specializing in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics. I’ve successfully worked with students ranging from elementary to college level, helping them improve their grades and build confidence in their math skills. My approach focuses on personalized learning, where I adapt my teaching style to fit each student’s unique needs, ensuring they grasp the concepts deeply. My teaching method and techniques include but not limited to Personalized learning, Conceptual understanding, and Active engagement. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my methods to fit each individual's learning style. This might involve visual aids, hands-on activities, or problem-solving discussions. I emphasize understanding the underlying concepts rather than just memorizing formulas. Also, I encourage questions and interactive discussions to keep students engaged and to foster critical thinking. This can involve collaborative problem-solving or real-world applications of math.
My typical lesson plan is:
1. Warm-Up with a quick review (5-10mins)
2. Introduction of new material (15-20mins)
3. Guided practice (15-20mins)
4. Independent practice (10-15mins)
5. Review & assign home practice(5-10mins)
