About Jeanette
I am a graduate Zoologist with ample experience in teaching, researching, and communicating with people of all ages. I used to struggle with Mathematics and even got 0% a few times in some tests! Once I understood myself and how I learn, I started getting 100% and now I seek to help other students do the same. Mathematics is not hard, the way it is taught is what makes it hard. Any student I have taught has transformed entirely, not because of me but because they understand their learning better after sitting with me. Confidence is key to anything you do in life, and that is another spark many students need.

My approach towards tutoring is very personalised. Each student I have taught has required extremely different techniques due to their concentration levels, mathematics experience and their ability to learn. I have taught children from the age of 13-18. A typical lesson with me lasts one hour, with a 5-10 minute break in between to allow their mind to reset.
Typically, I study the student's abilities and then curate personalised question sheets as well as notes which work for them. Each lesson starts with questions on the previous topic learned, and ends with looking over the questions together to allow for critical thinking. This method means the student does not forget the previous lesson and goes over it again in their mind, allowing for a stronger memory on the topic.
