About Naomi
I'm currently a freshman in college at Johns Hopkins University, majoring in neuroscience and psychology! I’ve always loved math, reading, and writing, and I enjoy helping students build confidence in these subjects. In high school, I was a varsity hurdler and spent a lot of time with friends and playing volleyball. As a tutor, I focus on breaking down tough concepts in a simple, encouraging way. I’ve peer-tutored for years and currently work at a tutoring agency, helping students with everything from algebra and calculus to essay writing. Now, I’m excited to bring my support to students online! During the months of August-November and January-April I only offer online lessons, but during the months of December and May-July I can do local in person lessons! Note: the “my home” is just a public place I’m very comfortable with meeting you at :)

I usually begin each lesson with a quick 5-minute overview of the topic, followed by practice problems (or ones the student brings). I love teaching simple tricks to help with memorization or solving problems more efficiently. If one approach doesn’t work, I’m always flexible and adjust my method. I use a whiteboard and the GoodNotes app on my iPad to make lessons interactive and visual. I’m also very comfortable with Zoom and Google Meet. I tutor middle and high school students in math, up to and including AP Calculus AB/BC schoolers.
