About Barbara
I was born and raised in Belgium, Europe where I graduated with 2 bachelor degrees. I have lived all over the world, from Italy to Australia, but have been living in the US continuously since 2016. I am fluent in Dutch, French and English and teach AP world, AP US and AP Euro in English.
When studying tourism, I discovered my love for history and geography. I have been helping kids with the AP history exams for years. I like to help them see the links between things via comparing and contrasting different items in historical areas or times or by helping them see the continuities and changes that happen over time.
Over the years, I have created my own google slides, both extensive slides per unit and more compact review slides for exam prep. They contain the information from the most commonly used books for the AP courses like "Give me Liberty"; "American History Updated by Brinkley", "American Pageant", "Amsco", "Henretta's American History" and many more. I share my slides with my students to they can review at their own pace after our classes. I also help them with written assignments and other tests for class.

My lessons will differ from student to student as I cater towards their specific needs. I always work with slides that I prepare specifically for my students and share with them to give them a visual aid and something to go back to in case they want to review. I teach all AP history classes: AP World, AP US and AP Euro. I have been teaching most of these for several years and know the course by heart. I created my slides by using the most frequently used textbooks such as "American Pageant", "Amsco", "American History Updated", "Traditions and Encounters", Give me Liberty" and many many other books I have read over my years of teaching. I love to teach, but I love it even more when my students have that aha moment and finally see a change in their grades. Over my many years of teaching, all of the students that were serious about the course have AT LEAST made a 4 on the AP exam and most of them reached that 5!! So if you want to get that 5 on the AP exam, I can help you reach it!
