About Megan
I am a passionate primary school teacher and I also have experience of teaching English to adults. I was born in the UK and moved to Mozambique as a young adult as I wanted to use my teaching experience abroad. I currently live in Mozambique with my husband and young daughter.
I have taught in an international primary school in my Mozambican community for 11 years, delivering the UK National Curriculum to students from a range of cultural backgrounds. I find it truly inspiring to support the learning of young students and also find out about their culture. Moreover, I enjoy the challenge of adapting my lessons and the delivery of the English curriculum to support and celebrate the environment in which we live.
I would now love to use my experience and resources to teach students online and support them with their language and English subject skills.

I am a native English speaker with a Bachelor of Education degree in UK Primary Education and Teaching. I qualified as a Primary school teacher in the UK in 2008. I taught for three years in UK schools before deciding to broaden my experience by teaching abroad.
I taught in Ghana for 9 months and also taught in an international primary school in Mozambique for 11 years, which is where I currently live. I have taught children between the ages of 4 and 11 during my 17 years of teaching.
I have a range of resources, which I enjoy using to make my lessons engaging and exciting for young learners. I believe that this is particularly important to engage learners who are learning English as a second language. I also like to encourage questioning and discussion during my lessons, to include the students and monitor their level of understanding.
The typical length of one of my lessons, in any primary curriculum subject, is 50 minutes. I also allow 5 minutes at the end of a lesson as a plenary, to recap what was learnt.
