About Victoria
I am patient and encouraging, and I get on well with my students, which really helps when considering who you want to spend an hour a week with! I love English, but struggled to achieve grades at high school. As a result I had to teach myself how to write a good essay, and this has paid off in both my own academic studies and in teaching others.
As well as being a teacher, tutor, and student, I also work as a folklore storyteller. I am a creative person who is passionate about what I do and this never fails to inspire others.

My lessons are tailored to individual student needs whether they are aiming for a passing grade, the top grade, or their best potential. What most students lack (because most schools do not teach it) are the building blocks of what the exam board is looking for, and this can be taught. I teach AQA, Edexcel, OCR, Eduqas, and Pearson, and I am an examiner for Edexcel. I break these down and we practise writing to meet them until the magic moment when natural ability and exam skills click together. Once this happens (and it always does) I then develop and encourage deeper textual analysis with passion and enthusiasm.
Most students book me for an hour a week, but I am completely flexible. I have taught GCSE and A-Level Literature and Language in college, high school, and as a tutor since 2015 and I am a Qualified Teacher (PGCE).
