About Taylor
I am currently a graduate student at Eastern Illinois University studying Communication Disorders and Sciences and on my way to become a speech-language pathologist. For undergrad, I attended Augustana College - Rock Island, a private liberal arts college and I received my Bachelor of Arts by double majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Environmental Studies. I have worked with children for 8 years now both through being a swim coach and private swim lesson instructor and by participating in clinic during my undergraduate and graduate programs. I grew up loving language arts in school and have always been excited about sharing my knowledge with others! I have experience working with children with a varying degree of special needs both through clinic experiences and through coaching/teaching private swim lessons.

I strive to make learning enjoyable as much as possible! Fun + Functional + Meaningful work on these types of subjects encourage learning for students. Most of the time, these subjects are not enjoyable to kids, so they struggle to become motivated to work on their skills, leading to them struggling and falling behind more. I want to work on these skills in creative ways. In addition, I implement visuals to help individuals organize thoughts and make more meaning out of the information provided to them. Fun + Functional + Meaningful work on these types of subjects encourage learning for students.
