About JodiLynn
Hello there!
I am a native English speaker who has studied several different languages over the last 10 years. As a result, I have learned basic Russian, beginner level Mandarin, and intermediate Spanish. I have a strong desire to learn, and therefore, a compatible desire to teach others.
I have a master's degree in Psychology (in March of 2019) and will soon have my TESOL certification through a Chinese company that I tutor with online. Above this, I will be starting a second masters degree program in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on TESOL from Concordia in Portland in March of 2019.
I found and began teaching English to Chinese individuals between the ages of 4-16 in 2016. I have worked with two separate companies, each of which has taught me to love both the culture and language of Chinese even more.

I approach each lesson with patience and love of the language. Every new word is a journey, and each moment of class should be both fun and educational for both teacher and student. I learn as much as I teach.
I love to make each lesson as individualized as possible, giving each student the specific attention to details required to help him or her succeed. Making sure to not only teach words but to focus on accent, phonetic sounds and accurate spelling, and assisting with open ended conversational questions as often as possible, I work on basic skills and ultimately work towards mastery at each level taught.
