About Mia
As I mentioned briefly in the 'about lessons' subject I have Dyslexia. Throughout my time at University I learnt how to embraced my learning difficulty and use it to my advantage, in both a school setting and a work setting.
Throughout my time at University I studied Film, Theatre and Television studies. During both my BA Hons and MA degree I would spend my time analysing scripts, this would include but not limited to understanding the language the writer used, the political and historical problems faced within the play / film and creating character backgrounds for scripts I would direct.

My teaching techniques will always be altered per student. As someone who has had to go through my own time at school and at University with Dyslexia and ADHD I understand how important it is to find someone that can teach to your specific learning style. In the first lesson we will discuss the best way you learn and what work's and doesn't work for you. Your average lesson will be 1 hour but if you think you need a longer session I am happy to adjust the timings, or if you have a deadline and you want a quick 30 minutes to go through any work you have we can also do this.
I have previously worked at Camp America where I spent my time teaching guitar and organising a reading group for my campers. I have also worked with year 6 SEND students and year 4 students in how using theatre techniques and activities can help you learn other subjects such as history.
My lessons are for primary school children and secondary schools up to year 9.
