About Daren
I am recently graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Genetics, Genomics, and Biotechnology. While studying there, I worked as a teaching assistant and also informally tutored a number of my fellow students, all of which credited my help in improving their understanding of biology and chemistry.

Initially, I would seek to establish the student's level of understanding in the subject. This would inform my teaching approach. Speaking generally, I teach by offering clear explanations and drawing comparisons to concepts the student already understands, then guiding them through some examples until they feel confident doing so on their own. I'm quite passionate about the biological sciences and enjoy teaching others about them. While my most recent experience is in teaching at the undergraduate level, I could also work with middle/junior high to high school students as well. My degree is in genetics and biotechnology, but that involved a thorough grounding in general biology and organic chemistry and I have retained a great deal of knowledge on those subjects as well.
