About Lara
Hello! My name is Lara, and I am an enthusiastic and dedicated English tutor with a deep love for learning. With a background as a nanny and tutor, I have honed my skills in working with children of various ages, helping them develop not only academically but also personally.
My passion for education is complemented by my nurturing nature, ensuring that each student feels supported and motivated to achieve their best.
Outside of tutoring, I am an avid animal lover and take great joy in spending time with my pets, which has taught me the importance of patience and empathy. I am also passionate about traveling and experiencing new cultures! As an experienced English tutor specializing in elementary to high school students, my teaching method centers on personalized, student-focused learning. I believe in fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring new concepts. Assessments and feedback are integral to my approach, ensuring that each student’s progress is continually monitored and adapted to their needs.
A typical lesson plan begins with a review of previous material to reinforce learning and identify any areas needing further attention. This is followed by an introduction to new concepts, often through interactive and hands-on activities to maintain student engagement. We then move on to guided practice, where students apply what they’ve learned through exercises and discussions. The lesson concludes with a summary and a brief preview of the next topic, along with assigned practice work to reinforce the day’s learning.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to connect with students of varying ages and learning styles. My passion for English and dedication to each student's success drives me to go beyond the standard curriculum, incorporating creative and customized materials to make learning both enjoyable and effective. I am committed to building strong foundational skills in younger students while also preparing older students for more advanced studies and standardized tests.
My lessons are designed for students ranging from elementary to high school, tailored to their specific grade level and individual learning needs.
