About Sam
My name is Sam, and I am a recent graduate from the University of Birmingham with a Masters degree in Public Health and a Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences. I have a detailed knowledge of Biology and also a strong level of understanding for Maths and Statistics applied to the biological field. I am proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and have experience working with young people through my previous voluntary roles as an athletics coach and as a sport and activity leader. I am a friendly and punctual individual and would love to be able to help young people develop their scientific understanding.

I am a 22-year-old recent graduate from the University of Birmingham looking to help young people develop their scientific knowledge. My primary aim when educating is to ensure the student develops the knowledge in a way that is uniquely appropriate to them, so that they are able to retain this knowledge effectively. To do this, I believe it is highly important that lessons are reciprocal, where I will encourage the student to communicate to me what specifically they are trying to understand and then work together to discover how we can achieve this. This is a technique I have honed primarily in my past voluntary roles as an athletics coach and sports leader but, combined with my specialist knowledge of Biology, I believe this will be easily transferable to an education setting. I am flexible in lesson length, as again I believe different students study well for different periods of time, so am happy to discuss this with you.
