About Hannah
I’m a freelance oboist based in London, and am a graduate of the Royal College of Music, and the Royal Northern College of Music. I have worked and performed with top UK ensembles, including the BBC Philharmonic, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, and English National Ballet. I’m also a member of the award-winning wind quintet Northern Reeds, with whom I’ve performed across the UK and recorded a debut album. Alongside my performing career, I’m a passionate and experienced educator who enjoys helping students of all ages and abilities thrive musically.

My teaching is warm, structured, and fully tailored to each individual. Lessons can be for any age and level, lasting for 30 minutes or more. I focus on building strong technical foundations while encouraging musical creativity and confidence. Whether preparing for exams, auditions, or learning for enjoyment, I create a positive, supportive space where students can grow and succeed whilst having clear and achievable goals in mind. I have a range of teaching and education experience from working in schools, music hubs, and privately, and I have experience guiding students through ABRSM and Trinity exams. I also have experience leading group workshops and working on creative music projects with young musicians and adults. I teach oboe (at all levels), recorder (to Grade 5), and music theory (to Grade 5).

I recommend Hannah 100%! You will love her teaching style! After playing piano for about 10 years over 20 years ago, I recently decided to dive back into music and relearn the theory behind it all (I only knew some French music theory).
