About Matt

I am Matthew Coulson, a current junior at the University of Central Florida. I am graduating in May 2027 with my Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology - Exercise Physiology, and plan on obtaining my Master's degree over the course of the next 2 years.

I was in the International Baccalaureate program for all 4 years of high school, all while balancing varsity baseball and church commitments. I understand how hard school can be and want to make life and school a bit easier for you!

I obtained a 40/45 on all my IB tests and graduated with a 3.9 GPA. I received the Florida Bright Future Medallion scholarship, which guarantees 100% fulfillment of all tuition costs to any public university in Florida.

I am here to help you and work around what your current curriculum is. I am always flexible and able to flex to your schedule and availability!

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor focuses on helping students build confidence, improve critical thinking, and strengthen their writing and analytical skills. I use a personalized and interactive teaching style, adapting each lesson to the student’s needs and academic level.

In a typical 30-minute session, we focus on the student’s specific goals, whether that is essay writing, literary analysis, grammar, or reading comprehension. I break down complex concepts into simple steps, work through examples together, and provide clear feedback to help students improve independently.

What sets me apart is my ability to tailor lessons for a wide range of students, from regular high school classes to IB English and entry-level college courses. My goal is not only to help students complete assignments, but also to help them become stronger, more confident writers and thinkers.

I offer either 30 minute courses for $15, or 1 hour sessions for $20. The session will focus on what it is you are learning in your classes, so feel free to reach out to me with what you are doing in your class so that I can get a feel for what we will work on!
