• 1) When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

  I started in 2019, tutoring at a community centre for underprivileged kids. There, I found that teaching came very naturally to me as I find it fun to break down concepts and explain them to people, figuring out the 'why' and 'how' in every subject matter is deeply important and engaging for me. I then started to tutor professionally, amassing over 30 clients at one point.

• 2) Which artists or works affect you the most?

  Theatre practitioners such as Bertolt Brecht and Michael Chekhov inspire me a lot. I enjoy watching films with great actors who disappear into their roles such as Helena Bonham Carter.

• 3) What are the qualities and skill required to succeed in this area?

  Patience, attention to detail, and the willingness to fail.

• 4) What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

  Don't shut yourself off to other experiences just to get a project done. Inspiration to create comes from living life, and you can't expect to create great work without having balance.

• 5) How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

  It makes me feel excited for the opportunities that are coming, and motivated to push on in the face of adversity.

• 6) What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

  Getting into drama school, signing to a reputable agency, performing my own stand-up at professional gigs and writing my own work that's been staged and filmed.

• 7) Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

  All the time! Once I had a student who during our first lesson couldn't even recognize basic words, but within two months, started scoring almost full marks in her tests - it was remarkable. Eventually, she got to the point of being so self-sufficient in the language she didn't need to have classes as frequently anymore which was a joy to see.

  Being kind to my students and taking the time to understand their needs.
