About Yuran
I am well educated in Math, Science, CS, Music, and anything related to them. I believe teaching should be about getting students passionate about the subject! And the best way to do that is to be a passionate teacher myself. I am currently pursuing a Master of Engineering in Computer Science at Cornell University. For my undergraduate studies, I double majored in Computer Science and Mathematics at Cornell. When I'm not teaching students, you can find me practicing piano or playing with my dog, Coco.

My method is highly student-centered. I tailor explanations to individual needs, using analogies, visuals, and interactive techniques depending on how the student learns best. In practice, this means I often have students teach me a concept back, or solve a problem in two different ways to build flexibility. I bring empathy, structure, and interdisciplinary experience. With a background in both technical and artistic disciplines, I understand the pressures students face when trying to succeed in more than one field. I’m especially attentive to students who might feel overwhelmed but are too hesitant to say so. My sessions often balance clarity with encouragement. I also integrate insights from Cornell studies on learning environments that foster autonomy and belonging - especially important for students from diverse or international backgrounds. These values shape how I teach: not just what students learn, but how supported they feel in the process. I work with students in math, computer science, and music
