About Jay
Heya I’m Jay! I’m a working session drummer and educator based in the Forest of Dean/Bristol area.
As far as experience goes, over the last 3 years I’ve played over 80 live shows across the southwest of England with Metal-Core, Indie Pop and Blues Rock bands. More recently I opened a Drum Masterclass hosted by Ash Green (Holding Absence) and Tom Connolly (Dream State).
I’ll be honest and say that I’ve only given a handful of lessons. However I’m eager to help more people develop their skills and confidence behind the kit. I’m open to students who want to learn to play their favourite song, need help getting through their grades or wanting to learn their first beat.

I think the most important thing for a drummer is a solid understanding of the basics. Using these as a platform to more complex ideas. I’ll tailor each lesson to a students needs however we will focus on playing technique and consistency as I think these are the most important things for a drummer to work on.
I offer lessons of 30 minutes to an hour (depending on a student’s preference).
