About Isobel
Hello! My name is Isobel and I am currently studying History and Politics at UCL. After attending a Grammar School for 7 years, I decided to take on a job tutoring students while at University.
This year I have taught three clients a week. The subjects I have taught include: GCSE History, GCSE English, and KS2 English. I have thoughourly enjoyed seeing my students grow, both academically and as people. For instance, working with one student we improved their grade from a 5 to a 7, allowing them to move up a set in school.
As an older sister, I have excellent expirience with children and teenagers. I'm incredibly passionate about the subjects I teach and love to see my students enjoy lessons!

My teaching method is always student oriented. Before we begin teaching I'll have a conversation with both parent and student, where we set out key goals we want to achieve. These goals can be academic (i.e improving your grade) or personal (i.e improving your confidence), both are essential to becomming well-rounded person!
I come to every lesson with work sheets, powerpoints and games. Learning is meant to be fun and interesting. For example, when teaching students about Greek Mythology, one lesson was based on writing a paragraph comparing the Disney Film and True Story of Hercules (or Heracles).
My philosophy, is that tutoring allows me to create a tailored experience not available in a large class, you won't learn if you don't enjoy your lesson, so I will always aim to make it equally fun and educational!

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy for my lessons. This policy works both ways. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the lesson then I would expect to receive half the original pay, and if I do the same then your next lesson will be at half the usual rate.
